Keynote speaker, Dr. Sargon George Donabed, Assistant Professor of History at Roger Williams University where he teaches Middle Eastern history and religious studies. Dr. Donabed completed his PhD at the department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations, University of Toronto in 2010. He serves on the advisory board of the journal Chronos, published by the University of Balamand in Lebanon. His work has been published in journals such as Folklore and National Identities. He is a recipient of The American Academic Research Institute Iraq (TAARII) grant for his work on Assyrian folklore of Iraq and has strong interest in fantasy and science fiction film and literature and wildlife and environmental conservation.
Dr. Donabed is also the co-editor of
The Assyrian Heritage: Threads of Continuity and Influence (2013). Copies of book will be available for purchase and signing by Dr. Donabed. If you would like a signed copy of the book email us at
