During the year, the Assyrian Foundation of America holds general membership meetings every other month (except during the summer). There are often guest speakers discussing topics of current concern to the Assyrian community or speaking about our history and culture.

In addition, the Foundation has several special events:

Every year, members of the Foundation board a bus and head to Reno for some fun, excitement and hours of amusement! The members board the bus on Sunday, spend a day and night enjoying the hospitality of the Sands Casino and then return to the Bay area on Monday.

July 8, 2007              Picnic

The annual picnic is a perennial favorite of Foundation members. It is currently held at the East Bay Mud Park Reservoir in Orinda (off San Pablo Dam Road). Members are treated to fantastic food and games of volleyball and backgammon set against the backdrop of the gorgeous lake and surroundings.

The final grand event of the year for the Foundation is the Anniversary Party. This year’s party is a costume event and all members are encouraged to dress up (Assyrian theme is optional) to celebrate in grand style! This is a dinner/dance party with a scrumptious meal, great music, and a costume contest for young and old alike. The Anniversary Party is a wonderful time to meet and renew old acquaintances, meet new friends and celebrate another year that the Foundation is able to continue its mission to support Assyrians all over the world.
